The 1008fs features are a testament to its excellence: a new gain stage, the 985, developed exclusively for the 1008 that is encased in a massive shell machined from a solid block ofaerospace grade aluminum. Input connections: two, each fully balanced and capable of infinitely flexible loading options. The performance specifications are just as impressive: total harmonic distortion of 0.01%. A maximum output level of 16V. And frequency response that varies no more than one-tenth of a dB throughout the entire audio range.

Boulders requirement for the release of the 2008 was that it simply set a new standard for vinyl LP playback, a format that not a few music lovers already consider to be the best sounding medium available. There are three separate inputs that can be tailored to the exact individual needs of specific cartridges: gain and loading can be adjusted or fixed on a removable Personality Card. Optional equalization curves are also available for LPs mastered prior to 1955. Other features include cartridge demagnetizer throughputs, a mono function and three low-cut filters.
