The development of a low-noise and and low-distortion phono-preamplifier is one of biggest challanges in amplifier design. Due to the very high amplification factors rerquired for such a product smallest noise-levels at the input of the amplifier may reduce sound quality dramatically. A layout that takes care of all potential sources of noise is key for an optimal sonic performance of a phono preamplifier.
